English Lessons
We put the fun back into learning English
On the first morning of a course, students take an English language assessment test to ensure they are placed in the appropriate class. We provide for all levels from beginners through intermediate to advanced. Our beginners level class assumes students have studied English for a minimum of one year, either at school or evening class.
English lessons take place each weekday morning between 09:00-10:30 and 11:00-12:30 making a total of 15 hours English language tuition per week.
The class size is dependent on the number of students, but is never more than 16 per class and is usually less. There is plenty of opportunity for the teachers to provide individual support to students and help with specific problems to improve all students ability to communicate in the English language.
Torquay Language School provides students with the use of course books and worksheets. Exercise books are given to students, but please bring your own pen! We recommend all students bring their own translation dictionary.
All of the English language teachers are native speakers of British English, fully qualified and have plenty of experience in teaching English to foreign students. The lessons are lively and interesting, covering all aspects of the English language, with particular emphasis on communication skills.
Learning English has never been so good!
At the end of the language course, students receive a certificate of course completition together with a written report assessing their English language ability.
